Ultimately, syndat is, or will one day be, a compilation of material science information regarding exotic
materials and synthetic minerals. Additionally, a future goal is to include even non-crystalline materials from all walks of science.
I have always had an interest in Artificial Materials,
but as a common joe with little networking, it became difficult to source or learn about the materials I adore.
This has been a major part of my motivation in this project. I started development back on May 28th, 2024, and Ive been working on it off and on since.
I hope over time I can let this project grow and expand to where it can be a useful reference and tool for many people.
I was inspired to create Syndat based off of Mindat and Gemdat. (We are unaffiliated)
Feel free to give them a visit over at
Mindat.org and
Gemdat.org
I want to thank the many scientific sources and websites for the free publically accessible information that
I was able to make use of to help build this website. Individual material and synthesis pages have specific
references where used if you wish to know more.
In particular I wish to thank these sources for extensive use and referencing:
Mindat (For mineral and material data)
Gemdat (For additional optical properties)
Ptable (For periodic information and referencing)
Periodic-Table-JSON from Bowserinator (For use in generating information in many pages)
